With RAUVISIO cube Desert Stone, the RAUVISIO family expands to include a surface that unites architecture and the power of nature into a serene, elegant stone aesthetic. Inspired by geological formations in desert landscapes, Desert Stone translates the effects of wind, sand, and time into a uniformly structured, finely textured surface with an authentic feel.
Over decades, wind, temperature, and sand have shaped natural stones, creating natural works of art through weathering patterns. The Desert Stone texture captures these formations and translates them into a surface that exudes permanence and tranquility. Construction and Format for Everyday Use
Desert Stone is supplied as a pressed panel measuring 2,760 × 1,220 × 20 mm. A mineral-based filler creates the look and feel and is applied to an MDF core, which is backed with a color-matched layer. The result is a stable, warp-free system that gives the impression of solid stone – at a significantly lower weight. A textured, color-matched edge ensures a harmonious appearance down to the last detail.
Design Integration: Furniture as if Cast from a Single Cast
Desert Stone is designed for seamless integration into the REHAU design system: surfaces, edges, and roller shutters are precisely color-matched. Combined with the HPL RAUVISIO noir as a horizontal surface and the RAU-VOLET matte roller shutter, it creates a minimalist, monolithic interior. With the color-coordinated, textured RAUKANTEX edge, seamless transitions can be achieved, making furniture appear as if crafted from a single piece.
Process-efficient from individual pieces to series production
REHAU integrates design and manufacturing: Color-coordinated edge finishes are available up to a functional zero joint. Pre-fabricated fronts with zero-joint edges can be ordered via the REHAU surface configurator, even for single units. This makes implementing individual projects as easy as planning near-series production – efficient in procurement and processing.
